Warming teas for cold days
With cinnamon, ginger, orange and hibiscus – perfect for cold days. They offer warmth, cosiness and a pleasant, spicy aroma in every cup.
Warming teas: December in a cup
Warming teas are the ones you reach for when it’s already dark outside at four o’clock. Cinnamon, aniseed, ginger and fennel – spices whose aroma fills the kitchen before you’ve even taken your first sip. Apotheke has put this range together so that the tea tastes of the season, rather than simply being sweet.
Winter Cup and his friends
The star of this range is Winter Cup: hibiscus, rosehip, cinnamon, aniseed, fennel, liquorice root and ginger. Hibiscus gives it a deep red colour and a tangy flavour, whilst cinnamon and aniseed add sweetness, so there’s no need to add sugar. It’s a tea that’s perfect for both an afternoon break and after dinner.
The ginger blends — ginger with orange and ginger with lemon and mint — are more zesty. The ginger gives your throat a warming sensation, whilst the citrus keeps the flavour fresh. These are ideal when you want a tea to perk you up, but can’t face coffee anymore.
Who is this line suitable for?
Warming teas are the easiest way to make the dark season a little more bearable. They’re also perfect for guests: the aroma of a spiced tea is something most people associate with a sense of home, and none of these blends contain caffeine, so serving them late in the evening won’t disturb anyone’s sleep.
What else is available?
During the colder months, these are usually accompanied by immunity-boosting teas made with rosehip and sea buckthorn. For a calming evening, take a look at the ‘calm and sleep’ blends; the full range can be found under ‘natural herbal teas’.
